Eh, quick lah I just want you to redefine Malaysian culture only mah!

Ask a Gen-Z what Wayang Kulit is. Ask them what Kufi is. Ask them what kolam is. Actually, do you the reader even know what they are? That's a shame because they're all part of the great arts in Malaysian culture. Malaysia has one of the most eclectic sets of cultures that can not be found anywhere else in the world. As Malaysians, we are spoilt for choice as we celebrate the Chinese traditions, the Malay traditions, the Indian traditions and even the tribal ones.

The problem lies in progress because as we move forward with technology we start to forget the arts that make us who we are. Well, in the year 2022 TM challenged us to revitalize Malaysian cultures using the very thing holding us back, technology. We decided to create a platform where the new and old generations of Malaysians can come, to refind the love of our culture. Introducing, TM Mengukir Malaysia.

There's tech in the most trivial things.

For each festive season, we dug deep to find a forgotten art that actually builds the identity of the season. We then conceptualize different ways to showcase those art forms in a way that relate to the people of today, giving it new life for all Malaysians.
